What we do with your data when you write to us, in plain English.
This is an English translation provided for convenience. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.
Who processes your data
The data controller is CALPE PLACE, S.L., tax ID B54916341, with its address at Carrer Portalet 3, 03710 Calpe (Alicante), Spain. You can write to us at calpeplace@calpeplace.com.
What data we collect and how
This website does not store data on any server of its own. There are no forms that send data to a database and no user area. The form on each property does not send anything: it opens WhatsApp on your device with a message already written, and you decide whether to send it.
So we only process the data you give us when you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or email: usually your name, your phone number or email address, the dates you are looking for and the number of people.
What we use it for
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To manage the booking and the stay if you do book.
- To meet the legal obligations of a tourist accommodation, including registering guests with the authorities where required.
Legal basis
Your own request and the steps prior to a contract (art. 6.1.b GDPR) to reply to you and make the booking; compliance with legal obligations (art. 6.1.c GDPR) for guest registration and invoicing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: as long as needed to deal with them and little more. Booking data: for as long as the relationship lasts and afterwards for the periods required by tax and tourism rules.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your data for commercial purposes. It is only accessed by those who provide services to us so that we can look after you: our accountants, the email provider and the messaging platforms. And by public authorities when the law requires it.
Please note that if you write to us on WhatsApp, that conversation goes through the systems of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. and is also governed by its privacy policy. If you prefer not to use it, email or call us.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its processing and to request its portability. Just write to calpeplace@calpeplace.com saying which right you want to exercise. If you think we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
